TipWhy This Matters

India’s first dedicated Mini/Micro-LED display manufacturing project. It pushes the tracker beyond conventional chip packaging into a higher-value optoelectronics segment.

What does this facility make?

Plans to make Mini-LED and Micro-LED display modules and panels, while also building Gallium Nitride epitaxy and foundry capability on 6-inch wafers. These technologies sit at the intersection of semiconductors and advanced displays.

Why does it matter?

Micro-LED and GaN manufacturing are strategically relevant because they open a path into XR displays, automotive HUDs, wearables, defence displays, and other high-performance optoelectronic applications. Locating the project in Dholera also deepens Gujarat’s emerging semiconductor cluster beyond silicon fabs and OSAT.
